Practical Tips

The local currency in Egypt is the Egyptian pound; US dollars and euros are widely accepted in tourist areas, and tipping is customary. Tap water is not safe to drink. For sightseeing in Cairo, comfortable shoes, a hat, and sun protection are essential; clothing that covers the shoulders and knees is expected at religious sites. November to March is the most comfortable time to visit Cairo, while the sea in Sharm El Sheikh is suitable for swimming year-round.

Which Duration Should You Choose?

The 4-night itinerary covers Sharm El Sheikh and Cairo at a busy pace.
