Tours of the Americas range from major cities in North America to the natural wonders of Latin America. This page lists flight-inclusive package tours with at least one country in the Americas on their itinerary: programs in the USA and Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, and South American routes covering Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Colombia. US tours include East Coast itineraries covering New York, Washington, Philadelphia and Boston, as well as West Coast routes combining Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Canada itineraries visit Toronto, Niagara Falls, Montreal and Quebec City. Since flights on these routes take 10–13 hours, tours generally last more than 7 nights.
Highlights of South America tours include Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls (Brazil–Argentina), Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Chile’s Atacama Desert, and Machu Picchu in Peru. Mexico programs cover Cancun, Mexico City, and Mayan ruins, while Caribbean programs include the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Domestic flights are included in the package on these long-distance itineraries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ list of “Visa Requirements for Turkish Citizens,” the US and Canada require visas for burgundy passport holders; as waiting times for US visa appointments can be long, you should apply early. Mexico requires an e-visa. Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Panama, the Bahamas and Jamaica are visa-free, making South America a popular option for long-haul travel without a visa. For connecting flights, you should also check the transit rules of the country where you change planes.
Spring and autumn are the most comfortable times to visit the East Coast of the US and Canada; early October is known for its fall colours in Canada. The seasons are reversed in the Southern Hemisphere: summer in Argentina and Chile runs from December to February, when tours of Patagonia are organized. The dry season for Machu Picchu is from May to September.
International and domestic flights, accommodation, transfers and the city tours listed in the itinerary are generally included in the package. Visa fees, ESTA or visa fees for the US, national park and museum entrance fees, and optional excursions are excluded from most itineraries. Each tour’s included/excluded list is shown separately.
Flight times and time differences are significant on trips to the Americas: the time difference is 7–8 hours with New York and 6 hours with Buenos Aires. Sleeping on overnight flights, keeping the arrival-day itinerary light and getting an early night on the first evening can help you adjust. In the US, tips are around 15–20% of the restaurant bill, and sales tax is added to prices at checkout. In high-altitude areas of South America, such as Cusco and Machu Picchu, a slower pace is recommended on the first day. For connecting flights, remember to check the transit visa requirements of the connecting country separately.
On tours of the United States, accommodation is at hotels near city centers; rooms in expensive cities such as New York may be small. Yes. Turkish citizens holding ordinary passports need a visa to enter the US. Since appointment wait times can be long, it is best to plan ahead.
Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Uruguay are visa-free for stays of up to 90 days. For connecting flights, check the transit rules of the connecting country separately.
Because of the long flight time, itineraries are usually 7–14 nights; routes covering several South American countries take longer.
